Ward's Cabinetry - Finishes and Specialty Options
Brushed Finish Ward's Brushed Finish is fine brushed strokes that are applied over the entire piece of your order to fashion a true piece of art. This is not a mechanical process but rather an art form. Done by hand, this technique leaves varying brush strokes over the entire surface, not only on each door and drawer front but over each painted piece of your cabinetry. Ward's brushed finish will leave an enhanced level of excellence in both beauty and function for your cabinetry.

Glazed Finish Ward's glazed technique accents the profiles on doors and moldings. Our glazing technique enhances the details in your cabinetry and also provides quality and uniqueness that will showcase the beauty of each piece for years to come.

Vintage Technique This multi-step process results in an inconsistent rub-through appearance that is applied to doors, drawer fronts and molding creating a look that appears timeworn and primitive. A low-sheen topcoat is applied to all Vintage Technique orders.

Antique Technique Ward's Antique Technique is a "worn" look that is applied to each door and drawer front by adding dents, dings, wormholes, hand-rasping and sanding curves that adds general characteristics of age to your stained cabinetry. Ward's Antique Technique is available on all of our all-wood door styles and comes in a low-sheen topcoat.

Olde World Collection Ward’s Olde World Collection features a “weathered” look that is applied to each door/drawer front, solid wood trim and molding piece by adding a cappuccino dry brush, dents, dings, sanding curves and wormholes.  This technique is available only on solid wood door styles.  The “weathered” technique will vary from piece to piece, resulting in inconsistent patterns throughout the order.  A standard low sheen will be applied to all doors, trim, and molding in each order.  Other sheen levels may be ordered at a published up-charge.  “Finished ends and/or Finished Interior” will receive the dry brush technique only, no “distressing”.

Colonial Collection Ward’s Colonial Collection features a base stain with a cappuccino dry brush.  This look is applied to all finished pieces.  This technique is available on all wood door styles.  The technique will vary from piece to piece, resulting in inconsistent patterns throughout the order.  A standard medium sheen will be applied to all doors, trim, and molding in each order.  Other sheen levels may be ordered at a published up-charge.

Antique Technique

The Antique Technique is a "worn" look that is applied to each door by adding dents, dings, hand rasping, wormholes and sanding curves. It is offered on all wood door styles and comes with a low-sheen top coat.

The Vintage Technique is an inconsistent "rub through" appearance applied to each door. It is available in all of our stains including our Accent stains and our black stain and comes with a low-sheen top coat.

The Colonial Collection's finish is achieved by hand-layering deep brown highlights over your choice of twelve stain colors. It is applied to solid wood doors/drawer fronts, trim, molding, finished ends, and finished interiors and comes with medium sheen top coat.

The Olde World Collection has wood distress features that are created uniquely by hand. Twelve stain color choices are enhanced with a dry-brush application of our popular cappuccino color. It is applied to solid wood doors/drawer fronts, most solid wood trim and molding. Finished ends, finished interiors, and some trim moldings will receive the matching layer finish without wood distressed features.
